Detailed Competition & Performance Style Guidelines
Greetings Rotaractors, to ensure professionalism, fairness, and excellence at SEARIC Summit Nepal 2025, all participants in competitions and performances are required to follow the detailed style and presentation guidelines outlined below. Please read carefully and prepare in advance
1.General Guidelines for All Competitions & Performance
Eligibility :- Only officially registered Rotaractors attending the Summit are eligible to participate. All participants must be active members of Rotary International and in good standing. – DRRs are not eligible to compete in Mr. & Miss SEARIC.
Nomination & Registration :- Each district may nominate participants for all competitions and performances (Mr. & Miss SEARIC, Inter-District Quiz, Service Project, and Cultural Performance) according to the rules of each event. – Nomination forms have been shared with DRRs and the summit district ambassadors. – Participants must register via the official nomination link before the deadline. Professional Conduct :- Maintain a respectful attitude toward judges, organizers, and fellow participants. – Refrain from using offensive or inappropriate language, gestures, or behavior. Any indecent act or behavior will immediately be stopped and disqualified. – Encourage and support fellow participants; competitions should foster camaraderie. Timing & Scheduling :- Observe strict time limits for all rounds, presentations, and performances. – Late arrivals or exceeding time limits may lead to penalties or disqualification. – Arrive at your designated stage area at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
Submission of Materials :- All props, music tracks, videos, slides, and digital materials must be submitted in advance to the organizing committee for review and approval. – Ensure all files are compatible, tested, and clearly labeled with participant name and district. – Only approved props or multimedia may be used during the performance.
Appearance & Presentation :- Dress code varies by competition: – Mr. & Miss SEARIC: Smart/formal attire recommended stage presence is essential. – Service Project Presentations: Business casual or professional attire. – Cultural Performances: Traditional costumes reflect district culture or fusion attire appropriate to the act. – Grooming and personal hygiene should reflect a professional and polished appearance.
Judging & Decisions :- Judgesβ decisions are final and binding. – Avoid questioning or challenging judgments publicly; always maintain professionalism. – Feedback, if provided, should be carried out constructively for personal and team growth.
2. Mr. & Miss SEARIC 2025 β Style Guidelines
Objective: Celebrate personality, leadership, talent, and confidence among Rotaractors.
Competition Rounds:
Introduction Round :- Duration: 1β2 minutes. – Highlight your personal journey in Rotaract, leadership experiences, and key achievements. – Speak clearly, maintain eye contact, and use confident body language. – Use of notes or supporting materials is not allowed.
Talent Round :- Duration: As specified by the committee. – Showcase a unique skill: singing, dancing, art, speech, or other creative talents. – Props and music must be preapproved and tested before the event. – Ensure the performance is appropriate for all audiences and reflects positive values.
Question & Answer Round :- Judges will assess clarity, confidence, and ability to think and respond impromptu. – Listen carefully to questions, answer concisely and respectfully. – Structure responses with a clear beginning, middle, and end. – Maintain confident posture and stage presence throughout.
Appearance & Stage Presence :- Dress and accessories should complement the talent or presentation without overpowering it.
Judging Criteria :- Personality & Confidence β 30% – Communication & Leadership β 30% – Talent Showcase β 20% – Overall Impression β 20%
3. Inter-District Rotaract Quiz
Objective: Assess knowledge of global affairs, Rotary & Rotaract, and regional issues.
Team Composition & Conduct :- Each district may nominate one team of 4 members (3 active participants + 1 substitute). – Active participants should communicate clearly and work collaboratively. – Substitutes may rotate between rounds but must be officially registered.
Quiz Etiquette :- Listen carefully; only one participant may answer at a time. – Use polite and professional communication, avoid arguing or interrupting. – Mobile phones, internet, and external references are strictly prohibited. – Maintain silence while another team is answering a question.
Answering Tips :- Speak clearly and confidently. – One member of a team can speak at a time. – Answer only when the question is addressed to your team. – Always be attentive.
Timing & Focus :- Follow instructions from the quiz master; rounds will have strict time limits. – Teams must be ready and seated at least 10 minutes before the start of the quiz.
Recognition :- Winning teams will receive certificates and trophies during the Closing Ceremony.
4. Inter-District Service Project Competition
Objective : Highlight impactful, creative, and sustainable service projects.
Team Composition & Conduct :- Each district may submit one project, completed by the district or clubs. Only community service projects are allowed. – Format: PowerPoint presentation, maximum 3 minutes. – Deadline: As specified by the Event Committee.
Quiz Etiquette :- Project Title & Brief Description – Objective & Target Beneficiaries – Activities Undertaken – Impact & Measurable Results – Sustainability Plan – Multimedia: Photos/videos may be included, within time limit
Delivery Style :- Speak clearly, confidently, and maintain good posture. – Engage the audience with concise explanations. – Practice timing to ensure presentation stays within 3 minutes.
Evaluation Criteria :- Impact Created: Positive change in community – Innovation & Creativity: Unique approaches or solutions – Sustainability: Long-term community benefit – Presentation Quality: Clarity, visuals, and organization
5. Cultural Performance (Non-Competitive)
Objective : Celebrate the diversity of SEARIC districts through music, dance, drama, or fusion acts.
Participation Guidelines :- Each district may perform one act. – Maximum duration: 5 minutes. – Acts should reflect district culture, traditions, or heritage.
Performance Preparation :- Props, costumes, and music must be arranged by the performers themselves. Props and music should be pre-approved by the organizing team and safe for stage use. – Ensure all team members know their roles and positions.
Stage Conduct :- Respect stage boundaries and audience line of sight. – Avoid unnecessary off-stage movements or distractions. – Be punctual in your performance and follow the time allocation.
Recognition :- All performing districts receive certificates of participation. – Exceptional creativity or execution may receive special mention.
6. Safety & Conduct
Ensure props, costumes, and multimedia equipment are safe for use.
Follow all instructions from the organizing committee and communicate in case of need of suppor t.
Maintain teamwork and always respect for other participants.
